
Tokyo is home to many video game pop up shops, limited events, and themed collaborations that are difficult to keep track of. I often talk about many of them on my podcast, Tokyo Game Life, but I wanted to create a page to highlight limited time gaming events in Tokyo. Dragon Quest Dive

Tokyu Plaza in Harajuku will hold Dragon Quest Dive, a 40th anniversary exhibit celebrating the series. It will feature interactive exhibits like a VR ride, along with photo ops and exclusive merch.

Legendary Pokemon Encounter: Legend Research in Nihonbashi and Yaesu

Several department stores around Nihonbashi and Yaesu like Mitsukoshi, COREDO, and Tokyo Midtown will host a Pokemon-themed mystery/puzzle-solving activity featuring over a hundred legendary Pokemon.

Final Fantasy X Museum

LUMINE0 NEWoMan department store in Shinjuku will host a Final Fantasy X exhibit featuring new development documents, photo ops, and new merch.

Tokyo Game Show 2026

Japan's biggest gaming event returns featuring hands-on game demos, events, shows, and more. General admission for the publics is from 9/19 - 9/21.

The World of Biohazard

BEAM Gallery in Shibuya will hold The World of Biohazard, a 30th anniversary exhibit about the Resident Evil franchise with interactive exhibits and exclusive merchandise.
